Hardball

Postby Dean-Atlanta » Thu Aug 24, 2023 2:44 pm

All I can say is wow... looking at some of the trades, FA bids, and moves being made, some of you are doing some serious GM work in this off-season. it's great for the league though, shows how many of us are very active in managing our teams...

Without opining about specific moves, did that last off-season, I will say it's always interesting to see what some teams are willing to pay The King's Ransom for...

Pretty balanced trades with the exception of only one or two in my opinion.

I believe it’s evidence the system works and we should let it run its course without tinkering for a few more seasons.

There have a few good trades, but a lot of trades appear to be trades for the sake of trading. IMO...

Agree Mitch. We are human and can get caught up in the process and excitement. There are multiple trades that are rather one sided and/or not forward thinking in my opinion

Just come out and say I made bad trades and have no idea what I'm doing...

but, seriously. I probably made my share of these bad trades and in hindsight have made probably more than my fair share of bad moves. However, I'd like to think I'm getting a little better.

So long as Chicago and Detroit continue to acquire picks easily from the rest of us, neither of them will complain.

Heck, even I helped one of them.

I do think we each have a unique method to our madness and it all synergizes to make things more interesting in the league.

I will refrain from throwing stone since I'm guessing some may not rate very highly my KC-ATRL and ANA-ATL trades...

In many instances, the final assessment of a trade is what we get with the draft picks or players traded and what we DO with those players we build our teams with in regard to the on field performance of our teams.

@Dean - You negotiated me down from my "buy now" price and turned it into a top 5 pick. Nice work!

I didn't want to pay The King's Ransom to move up in the draft... now we'll see if I get what I traded up for.
