Something that keeps coming up in important games is, teams score and then proceed to squib it on the kick off.
I hate this and most people do. And its nothing we can control.
So, as I suggested on twitch, can we create "squib" plays that just kick off and allow teams to use them.
Not eliminate the squibs, if you like them and want to use them, fine.
But, if you want to see your team kick off each time (except for on-side) then you use a modified squib kick.
Charlie and others would know, can we create a normal kick off and call it a squib?

Re: Squib Kicks
I did a quick test. I loaded a squib play and changed the "squib kick" logic to kick, and saved it. The game still recognizes the play as a squibb, and let me loaded that play (which I called SQBB-KO) as a squib. So this idea is doable.

Re: Squib Kicks
I think this is a no-brainer idea.
To allow coaches the option to squib or not to squib.
It's done to prevent KO returns for TDs but you should never do this if you just took a 1-2-3 point lead.
Amazing how often this happens and the other team takes the ball at the 40 and marches right down field.

I'm good with this option. Especially since we can't control the KO logic.

Re: Squib Kicks
Is there a potential logic change to just make the existing squib kicks more effective? I think that would be simplest to explore, but I am good with the change if necessary.
Couple questions though:
Would there be a corresponding modified kick return cloned as squib also?
Will every existing kickoff (and kick return?) play be cloned as a squib, just a few, or just one?

Re: Squib Kicks
My opinion is if we do it. We need to use the approved kickoff plays the same way we currently do with just a rename.

Re: Squib Kicks
Those are good questions Justin.
I have not given this expanded thought but if the game chooses the fake squib, then the other team is going to select a squib return.
Therefore, you would need fake squib returns too.
Now, this could be left in the hands of the coaches to decide what to use in their plans.
Teams could choose not to use them at all and you might have to figure out what he's using.
And could find yourself using a real squib return against a fake squib kick.
I suspect most coaches would just add the new fakes on both sides.
How many we have? I guess its left to the playmakers to design them and Charlie to approve and be okay with.
I have not even talked to Charlie about this yet.

Also may need to test to make sure it doesn't create a long onside kick thing with a unacceptable offense recovery rate if people call a regular return against an actual squib.

This is why I want Charlie to give his opinion on this since he lives in the editor.
