Scheduling
I notice a lot of back to back games on the schedules this season between the same teams. I do not have experience with the schedule making utility. However, if it is possible to adjust these back to back, home and home games, I think that would be a good thing.

Re: Scheduling
It is being worked on but it isn't the utility. It is writing of a schedule outline so we don't have to write a new schedule every year. You have to remember only have 18 teams playing a 16 game schedule it can be pretty compacted on combinations with having to play 9 games every week. Before the current schedule 1 of the AFC west teams would only play each team in the division once and we still had back to back games.

Re: Scheduling
There is a version of the current framework with no back to back games. There is some that have only 1 game between them but it has some teams play 5 games on the road in a row.

Re: Scheduling
James created the excel template that I have used for many seasons.
I do have the ability to manually eliminate the back to backs.
The problem is, when you start shuffling the weeks around, it means moving all the games for all the teams.
I try not to have teams playing 4-5 weeks in a row on the road or at home.
But once I begin moving things, there is no easy way to not fuck up some other teams.
What I need from James (anyone) is a new template that eliminates back to backs and no team playing more than 3 straight games at home or road.
We played with the idea of byes this past offseason and that is impossible for 18 team leagues.

Re: Scheduling
I think I fixed it. If someone wants to double check in cast I missed something like both teams home or away or not playing each other. Just so everyone knows the ideas behind the schedule
1. Everyone plays ever team in conference once and division twice.(easy tie breakers)
2. Top teams play top teams and bottom teams play bottom teams. To help lessen the learning curve A new owner playing Justin and Thomas every year might lead them to have nightmares. Hell it gives us vets nightmares. It should also bring records closer together.
3. Top teams in division and conference play each other later to help with meaningful games at the end.

Re: Scheduling
Also be kind I don't want to think about how many hours over the years to get this done. It took forever just to figure what out of conference match up that would work. Or how often you switch a week to fix a problem just to create 2 more. It was a plan but I think this is the best so far.
That isn't even counting the 17 week schedule I spent months off and on playing around with to have byes not work.
