Since we went to the requirement that only R-1-@ players are put on PS, I have remained mindful of this as soon as we start the off-season to make sure I plan which 10 out of 63 players (or roster total - 53 to decide number on PS) will be on PS with every move, draft pick, FA signing, trade, etc. The last thin I want to do is reach this point after TC and realize holy crap I have 63 players and only 7 of them can be put on PS. Then I'd have to make quick trades or cut 3 players, which is a waste of player value that I drafted, signed as FA or to contracts, or traded for. A good GM doesn't want tpo throw away players of value because of poor roster management.

It also means by this point it's quick and easy to post my PS because it is already decided.

I think I am a fairly average GM. Many of you are really good GMs and I figure doing PS should be easy,

I'm sure all coaches could throw their PS up on the forum in 5 minutes if your point is we could move along quicker.
But this time should be used for all coaches to take a break, recharge their batteries and maybe get some plans together and take a look at their profiles and clean them up as well. Maybe do some play testing, maybe other coaches who never create a play to go in and play with the editor.

I didn't mean those comments to be viewed as rushing anyone, just wanted to comment on doing PS.

We've had a bit of time to do just what you say and I have been doing lots of just that, redesigning my system and game plans which has included new plays and re-testing old plays and creating new game plans and profiles because what I did last season definitely needed some recharging badly.

At this point, I haven't had time to "rethink" yet, but I was referencing the fact that instead of cookie cutter players 2-3 deep, we now have to take player development into consideration with contract lengths, etc. A bit more to think about. Not much, but need to at least pause and make sure anything you have planned out is still valid or tweak if needed.

Sometimes I will forgo boosting multiple attributes to get one attribute to max. Obviously affects the ranking if other coaches do the same. I could have boosted a couple of attributes on QB Herbert, but focused on DI so I could consider starting him over Kizer this season. His 87 EN makes him quite comparable to Kizer now in the attributes affected by EN. Kizer has 86 EN so his attributes will slightly decline faster than Herbert's late in games. Part of me thinks it will add to the fun for me if I start Herbert over Kizer. He's almost as good as Kizer, but I don't think I have the patience to wait two to three more seasons.

Their ratings are very close. I would sim a few hundred games with each vs same teams and game plans and then compare the stats, like you did a few off-seasons ago, to pick a starter between them.
