AFC vs NFC

Postby Rich-League Officer » Sun Jun 26, 2022 11:20 am

Do people recall only a few seasons ago the chatter that the NFC was loaded and the AFC stinks?
Suggestions we needed to re-balance the league. Funny how things change.

3 teams in prime position in the NFC who have played uninspired :
Redskins 3-4 in last 7 (won last 2)
Packers 1-4 in last 5 (lost to 3 teams with worse record)
49ers 0-4 in last 4 (32 pts in last 5 games)

Only 2 teams in conference over .500, AFC has 6 teams over .500

The NFC needs help. Maybe it's time for me to do my part to bring about balance in the PNFL and return to the NFC next season.

While The NFC teams would appreciate the free win every year. I don't think adding a punching bag is what the conference needs.

I think it is more a product of the schedule. The AFC mid level tier just happens to be better than NFC right now. AFC also had a few Good Teams have a bad year so it created a favorable schedule. It is why you see some teams alternate good season. They can beat up the bottom of the other conference but when you have to play playoff teams they don't do as well.

When I remember the call to balance was because the NFC East looked like this.

NFC East
New York (William)
Washington (Jerry)
Atlanta( Mitch)
Detroit(James)

I went 6-10 and went 1-5 in the division.
Atlanta and Washington met in the NFC Championship.

This is the season that I remember I went 8-8 and finished 4th in the division and so missed the playoffs.

I just think after this season, it time for change, like when Jerry Glanville left Houston to go to Atlanta.

Being in the NFC would be even more of a challenge. I would have to play Jerry and Shawn twice each if I ended up in the NFC East, and GB, CHI, and SF twice each season n the NFC West.

@Dean - if you move to the NFC, which team would you switch with? It would actually make more sense for Minnesota to join the NFC and switch with one of the newer coaches if they would prefer an AFC team.

Carolina and Philly would be ideal candidates if one of them wants to move their team to an AFC city and team.

Or New Orleans.
