QB Derek Carr broke the single season record for TDs in a season with 52.
The record was held for 39 years by Jeff Blake who threw 51 in 2000 with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Congrats to Mr. Carr and his fleet of Jets receivers on the record-breaking MVP season.

New York has done quite a job discovering late round WR talent the past few drafts (and solid early rounders too.)

Good thing for the rest of us, those guys will want to get paid! The cap is coming for you... LOL

Perhaps but the game also selected Dean in 2019 (his rookie year) after a 7-7 season.
Me-Buf went 14-2
Eric-Jax went 13-3
Jon-TB went 12-4
3 other teams won 10

For some odd reason the game always picks what appears to be a random coach.
Maybe it evened out for Dean.

The most important award I was wanting to see was the Rookie of the Year for QB Justin Fields, it completed the goal for his rookie season and was the result I predicted in the optimism of the off-season. S Will Harris was recognized also, he lead the defense that kept those close games low scoring and results in wins rather than close losses. Barry J. Sanders also got his 1000 yards rushing, and we all know a solid running game is a QB's best friend too.

Another accomplishment by QB Derek Carr was something only one other QB has ever done in 42 seasons.
Carr led the league in passing yards, TDs, comp% & passer rating. (QB Grand Slam)

In 2026 Jake Locker (Giants)
4587 yds
65.5%
35 TDs
112.7 rating
(4 ints)

In 2039 Derek Carr (Jets)
4943 yds
66.1%
52 TDs
110.6
(6 ints)

Speaking of QBs, definitely don’t get the headline rumor the Chargers go after a QB with the number 1 pick. The QB would have to be better than Burrows and Fields. We foolishly traded away our 2nd round pick and Finley for Lock, so that whole deal would be a huge bust if we invested in another QB. It would have to be a no brainer upgrade.

The Chargers will either draft the best player in the draft or trade the pick away for multiple 1st round picks.
