There has been discussion about how we conduct the draft so let me ask everyone...
How do you want to do the draft?
#1 On the forum, which takes 7-10 days.
This allows careful contemplation, more trading and planning.
This way may force new rules in which teams are on a 12 hour clock perhaps. If you fail to select, we skip down one pick. I would need to think out these rules and discuss with Charlie.
#2 In the utility Draft Sock which takes 2-3 hours but requires full attendance on one day.
This method is quicker for sure but mistakes are made. This way also may force me to seriously employ some rules like skipping a team down one for letting the clock expire. Amazing how everyone has bad internet on draft day
But you tell me, which way do you prefer.

Forum! 12-hours and you drop one slot unless Rich receives an email citing unusual circumstances. If skipped, once the next team selects, the skipped team is again on the clock for 12-hours. The skipped team can still select, if posted before the next team. However, after 12-hours of no posting, the next team is up and has 12-hours.

Re: 2035 Draft
One thing I was considering with a forum draft is, 12 hours and you get skipped 1 slot. After that, 6 hours another slot, 3 hours, another slot and so on and so on. Otherwise someone could go 24 to 25 (big deal) and still use up a full day. But if the penalties increase, a full day becomes 5-6 slots.
I think the threat of penalty will move this along. 12 hours gives everyone the ability to sleep and still draft.

Re: 2035 Draft
Giants are fine with the forum draft.
I also agree there should be penalties to break the log jam we always get.
So, your time would be halved each time?
12h
6h
3h
1.5h
45m
23m
12m
6m
3m
lol ?

Re: 2035 Draft
Forum is good with some time limits. Building on William's idea, I believe the time provided for picks should decline each round. Basically, take the breakdown William has provided but tie it to each round.
1st round - 12 hrs
2nd round 6 hrs
Etc
Etc
1st round - 12 hrs
2nd round 6 hrs
Etc
Etc

While I agree we need to find a way to keep moving. There are some of us who work and have minimal outside contact. I can have no devices in my work and our internet has a ton of restrictions. I'm simply out of touch for large parts of the day. The forum will be slower and it has to be. That has to be accepted to a point. I do not believe I have ever been a big hold up, but depending on the timing of others pick who are all aorund the globe, I could easy pay a penalty out of my control.

Re: 2035 Draft
Maybe find a "sweet spot" for where everyone lives say a 12 hr window that we could limit the "clock" to ? For example, if everyone was in the US we could draft between say 6pm EDT and 6am EDT. This would be 3pm and 3am PDT. So, if we found a 12 hr window or so that we could have people be on the clock we might be able to alleviate the work issues.
