Time for the PNFL to follow the NBA ideas

https://www.si.com/nba/ranking-nba-seven-potential-anti-tanking-rule-changes-will-they-work

I really like

6. Teams can’t pick in the top four the season after making conference finals

5. No longer allowing a team to pick top four in consecutive years and/or after consecutive bottom-three finishes

4. Lottery odds freeze at the trade deadline or a later date(position freeze at trade deadline)

I say we put in the rule that you can't be in the top 5 2 years in a row.

So, non playoff teams are eligible. Teams that made conference championship games the previous year are ineligible.
Using same process as the “boost” five teams are selected from eligible team list and will be give. Top five draft picks. The teams remaining will be slotted according to how they finished previous season.

Sounds fun!

Im not sure we really have a roster setup that encourages tanking in the first place. Dont think we really have a tanking problem.

Its not like there is an Andrew Luck coming out in the draft that you think can turn your franchise around if you lose every game. Year in year out we basically have at least one, maybe 2 stars at every position and you know there is probably going to be an at least almost equal guy there the following season too

Didn't expect to be the talk of the show. Ha!

I'm not tanking again and tanking simply adds to the story of my franchise.
1) The draft list came out when I had already locked up the #1 pick so I was at Charlie's mercy. I would have preferred a godlike CB but was instead blessed with a godlike WR who motivated me to completely transform my entire WR focus from slow SP WRs to max SP WRs.
2) There is a method to my madness. The last time I had a #1 pick was the 2040 offseason after tanking the 2039 season. I went to the AFC championship game that season and the following two seasons and won a Super Bowl too, so hopefully the same formula works.
3) I just spent 13.5 points on a 3rd round rookie LB who will be LB4, so I clearly am investing in the team which means I plan to make an effort.

If I still struggle to win and fail to make the playoffs despite transforming and upgrading my roster this offseason, then maybe the league is simply more competitive now.

In my mind, it isn't the one off seasons someone may tank. It's the chance a team may do it multiple years in a row.

Key word is again. I think you could have made the playoffs.
