Re: Byes & Bullets
There is good reason why bullet passes were limited to 15 yards and I really would like to see them stay that way. If we have to have them I would keep them to PRD only.

Re: Byes & Bullets
Gentlemen, the discussion is over, and we should all be satisfied! Let's go back to high school for just a moment. How many people remember the Pythagorean Theorem (a squared + b squared = c squared)? If the QB is mid-field and throws a bullet midfield, that is fifteen yards. But if he throws to the sideline (25 yards from midfield) and fifteen yards up the field, the Theorem calculates an approximate 30-yard bullet. If the QB is at the left hashmark and throws to the right sideline, it is a little longer, and from the right hashmark, a little shorter, but on average, 30 yards. We are done here.

I agree with Mitch, Jerry, and Barney on this, but I want to state that we should not allow any offensive changes unless we have a counter on the defensive side of the ball. I'm not sure if the current PRD defenses account for 20 yd timers. This could be very bad. Glad it was decided to make no changes.
I'm good with the bye week.

What do people think of this idea?
As for Moxs request, the idea for a bye is not to make it after half the league has been realistically eliminated.
It's for teams to rest, take stock of their teams and regroup and maybe save a season.
The later in the season you make it, the bigger waste of time it becomes. IMO.
I think it needs to be after week 8/9/10 at the latest.
Jerry's idea of during a holiday is wonderful except that our calendar does not overlap with holidays.
Our playoffs/SB is around that time and that does not work since most teams are already on a bye for 2 months.

Re: Byes & Bullets
The split byes idea is not feasible. FBPRo98 scheduling doesn't allow byes, this one week bye is by pausing the season a week. Furthermore, we have 18 teams that play 9 games each week. If half the teams have a bye, 4 teams have a match and one team has no opponent. Or 10 teams get a bye one week and 8 the next, but we are unable to make a schedule like that in FBPro98.
If byes were possible, the PCFL schedule would have been a LOT easier to create with byes.

Dean, the idea is feasible.
You just play 4 games one week and 5 the next week.
I can update the game after 4 games and just send out the files.
The only question is, which 4/5 games are first so coaches prepare.
It also creates a situation where some teams enjoy the benefit of 2 weeks to prepare for their next game but some teams do not because their next opponent is in the 2nd half of the schedule.
It is best for all teams to enjoy the bye together so you all get 2 weeks to prepare or do nothing as the case may be.
