if this rule is passed, which I really have no opinion one way or the other, we can make it simpler for Rich. No reason to move salaries of specific players all over the place, when just buying 1 million in cap for a certain amount of points does the same thing. So whenever the deadline is for you to be under the cap, if you are at 215, you can either cut 5 million worth of salary, or buy 5 million in luxury tax with points

I'm not a fan, if we are trying to make rules to make the cap easier, get rid of the cap altogether.
Unless there is an NFL equivalent to this that I am unaware of :)

I like Dan's idea better. Much simpler. Spend points to get under the cap right after TC. If Rich hates the whole idea though and wants to veto this, I'd like to know now. I'm not making any cuts/restructures until I know this has no chance of being an option..

Rich let me know that this idea is a 'no' for now and that if we want it, it would only be for next offseason and that he prefers we eliminate the cap if we go this route … so, everyone should run their offseason under current rules.
