It's in the rules and part of the game. If people don't like it, then propose a rule change.

I like seeing people spend points. I am 100% for bidding up free agents.

It's the rules let people spend or save points as they may.

Apparently there is an unspoken rule change ban for a few seasons so good luck with that ever happening.

The poll intent is not a referendum of the rule itself. Just want to see how people feel personally about bidding, because almost no one bids on XR players. There are always clear starting caliber players available, but no bids. It also seems some may get upset. So asking from a how you play perspective.

Most teams have enough points that bidding seems almost pointless as many would match the top talent.

XR tag is a "free" 3-year contract, a value of 6 points, but there is risk of another team placing a bid. It's part of the system under our current rules. It's optional, spend more points on contracts or take a chance on putting the XR tag on a player or two. Jerry bid 3 points on my XR in hopes of getting him for 3 years. I matched and paid 3 points for a 3-year contract. That's the chance I took putting the tag on him.
