The 2042 rookies in the draft

Postby Dean-Atlanta » Wed Feb 08, 2023 5:54 pm

Scouting the draft pool and so far I am seeing...

Some can't miss prospects and some hidden gems for those who scout well

Some maxxed in most rating buts 2-4 points less in a key ratings (like that 79 SP WR with 700 total ratings) that are just BEGGING to win the boost lottery

Some players that will either be career FAs or career PS players.

What do you all think?

I'll reserve judgment till the rookies are in the files and I can do a better analysis.

Looks balanced...

Prediction:

- the best player will not be the 1st pick
AFC West Champion 2038, 2039, 2041, 2043, 2044
AFC Champion 2043

Prediction: the 21st pick will be a solid player for many seasons to come.

Really disappointed...

That Rich did not take my request and make a Leon Sandcastle with 85 SP and 85 AC.

This draft totally blows chunks.

Now that my rant is over, they look decent to me. Took a while to organize the attributes. They way they were originally was too much to figure out. Much easier to see them actuals above pots and sorted like the game/website order.

Can't wait for the draft to start.
#1 overall pick 2041, #1 overall pick 2042 => made the playoffs...

I did some re-organizing of the spreadsheet also so I am looking at it this way:

241 Pickett Kenny Draft Pool 0 QB 0 79 79 80 94 70 86 91 82 661 673 0.9821693908 6 80 80 80 95 70 87 92 83 667 673 0.9910846954
242 Howell Sam Draft Pool 0 QB 0 80 78 80 94 69 85 89 82 657 673 0.9762258544 9 80 79 81 96 70 85 91 84 666 673 0.9895988113

It makes more sense in the spreadsheet. But the ratings are in SP-AC-AG-ST-HA-EN-IN-DI for actuals and potentials and I added in some calculations on the ratings.

This, so far, has been true. The player I drafted at #21 in that draft was WR Josh Johnson.

He has the exact same # of catches and receiving yards as Jamar Chase who was taken 1st overall a few seasons ago.
AFC West Champion 2038, 2039, 2041, 2043, 2044
AFC Champion 2043

A WR2 84 Josh Johnson OK 1 0-0 0 83 85 91 64 95 91 95 94
83 85 91 64 95 91 95 94

A WR1 86 Ja'Marr Chase OK 3 0-0 0 84 85 91 64 96 90 95 95
84 85 91 64 96 90 96 96

Chase is 2 points higher in actuals. But Chase was drafted first overall in the 2040 draft and Johnson 21st in the 2042 draft, after WR Jameson Williams (SEA) and WR Alex Pierce (PIT) was drafted 3rd and 8th respectively. I thought then and still think now that Johnson was the best WR in that draft.
