The Chiefs lost a game in Seattle that was even more decisive than the 21-7 score indicated. Once again, Kansas City's offense proved to be quite ineffective. Chiefs GM and Head Coach Dean Chambers acknowledged the Seahawks were much improved over last season and the Chiefs were going in the opposite direction, saying "we had many chances to put points on the board, but our Beavis and Butthead offense once again proves it can't score. We were so inept we actually had a delay-of-game penalty on a goal line run on third down. Imagine that, a delays of game on a goal line run."
The Chiefs will finish this dismal season with games against the Vikings and Chargers. Reportedly there will be change in the coming off-season. In a moved that Chambers and Chiefs ownership says is neither a resignation or a firing, it seems likely that Chambers and the Chiefs organization will part ways after this season. "We have agreed that it is time for change," Chambers said," and the future for the Chiefs does not include me and my next coaching opportunity will not be in Kansas City.
After Chambers spoke at a leadership conference in Atlanta where Senator Raphael Warnock, governor candidate Stacey Abrams, and Falcons owner Arthur Blank spoke, it gave rise to speculation that Chambers is under consideration for the open position there. Kansas City fans had mixed reaction to this news that was mostly negative. One fans said Chambers "was more concerned with being woke than winning football games in Kansas City."
There is growing speculation of an unprecedent trade in the works between the teams, according to a leak by a family member of the Chiefs ownership. That family member, know for making controversial claims in the past, reportedly said "Chambers and his core of losing players can go to Atlanta and the Chiefs will rebuild through the draft with a new coach."
Nothing official has been announced. Stay tuned to this space for more news.
