This is proposed regardless if we keep the cap or not:
RULE PROPOSAL:
- Any player traded automatically gets a +1 contract year. This is particularly beneficial for any player traded between the Superbowl and Free Agency.
- If the player is past their automatic anti-age and they are traded after the Superbowl and before the next season button push, the player is automatically anti-aged.
- If the player is past their automatic anti-age (and we still have the cap system), the receiving team only pays 50% of the salary.
My reasoning is this incentivizes trades. It also saves the receiving team 5.5 points if they acquire a player past their automatic anti-age before the next season button push.

I would probably vote no on this. Not sure if this was posted before or after the salary cap decision, but Without a salary cap there isn’t much need for it

I like the concept, but I agree with Dan with the recent changes.
I believe a greater differentiation in ratings will drive more trading.

Re: Rule Proposal: Add trade incentives
Recent changes have no bearing on this. So, you'd rather keep posting unsigned veterans on trading blocks after the Superbowl who get no interest and if they do always get meh offers? You'd rather spend 5.5 points to sign and anti-age them? Even if we only make this apply between the Super Bowl and Free Agency, it gets a bunch of unsigned non-veterans one year deals or extensions on their current deals? This wouldn't motivate anyone to trade more? OK

Artificially Incentivizing trading is the last thing we should be doing. A trade should benefit both teams on its own merits. I believe excess trading will hurt the league.

Not a fan of creating contract years out of thin air.
There could be abuse of teams moving players around just to get the free contract and anti aging.
I think the cap lift is all you need.
And I see Stanley has a new team so it worked.
