The only way to have some randomness in these drafts would be for Charlie to create his drafts as always.
Then it's passed to me, imported into he game.
In the 2-3 weeks or so before the draft, I edit it based on some specific rules ahead of time that we all agree to.
The 2-3 weeks gives me plenty of time.
Then I input the new results post draft and you live with it.
In that way, no coach knows anything including Charlie & Jerry.
I suppose if 80% remain the same, we are talking about 25 draftees, maybe another dozen undrafted rookies.

Re: Random Pot nerf/Boost
But after 40 seasons, do people really want any randomness in their draft?

If we wanted to end up with something different than what we started with, why not just mask the ratings to begin with?

Re: Random Pot nerf/Boost
Is masking the ratings even possible?
Why do I assume there will always be a way for someone to see them while others can't.

One way to do randomness and not make Rich miserable would be to show the POTS but hide the ACTS. So a first round bust would be a guy with great POTS but low ACTS who would take forever to reach those POTS. A late round gem would be a guy who is close to maxed out.

Wouldn’t it be show the ACTs and mask the POTs? Maybe show the POTs for the key ratings?

Showing the ACTS is what was traditionally done but it wound up that you’d have to have a longer draft because there be so many busts. My way would add some randomness but you wouldn’t have to have an extra long draft because all the high POT guys would be taken. Your risk is just that your early round pick may take a long time to reach their potential. Normally a first rounder is able to start very early in their career.

Re: Random Pot nerf/Boost
I guess there is a way for me to hide the ACTs or POTs in these files in that initial period of time.
They would not be hidden per say but if we wanted to hide the POTS, I temporarily make all rookies 99 inside the game.
If we were hiding the ACTS, I make them all 1's. Post draft, they get revealed.
That would make it interesting. Not sure we would get 15 for 15 votes

Or just do the Draft first before anything and you wouldn’t have change the Rookies just hold the file back.

Speaking of the draft, let’s get this draft kicked off!
This is a fine topic of conversation while we’re waiting in between picks.
