Defensive profile proposal

Simple, conditional proposal really to support the changes Charlie likely will make to reduce every down usage of the 2 DL plays in the league. My guess is he will probably limit 2-DLs to PM, PL and PRD. If that is the case, then it will be important to control when those categories can be called next season.

PROPOSED:
PM: Can only be used in 6+ yardage situations. Required on 3rd 6-10.
PL: Can only be used in 10+ yardage situations. Required on 3rd 10+ from O5 to DEF 35.
PRD: Can only be used with less than 2 min to go. Meant to be prevent.

I only recommend this new category restriction if and only if we indeed restrict 2 DL plays to PM, PL and PRD next season, otherwise, not needed.

I am trying to keep the 2-DL defenses simple; compromise and small steps!

Razzle Dazzle - a minimum of four required if you use them. Can only be used in the final two minutes in each half.

Pass Long - a minimum of six required. No more than 50% can be 2-DL defenses.

Pass Medium - a minimum of six required. No more than 33% can be 2-DL defenses.
*****To have three 2-DL defenses in this category you would need nine Pass Medium plays.

After next season we will evaluate the results and potentially restrict 2-DL defenses further, but I think that this is a good compromise to start.

This is one of the calls that I think is hurting the QB passing stats! There is not a team in the NFL that would use a 2-DL defense on 1st down with any type of close score with a bunch of time left on the clock. For an exaggerated example, what team do you know that would use a 2-DL defense after kicking off to start the game; none, zero, zip! So, why would the PNFL allow it?

I don't want Charlie counting plays in game plans and doing calculations to check for compliance. We have enough of that on the offensive side with keepers, rollouts, and timers. I highly recommend that if we make changes that it is EASY for the commishes to check.

I would prefer we limit 2 DL plays to PL and PRD and set profile restrictions on PL and PRD to ensure they aren't called on 1st and 2nd down > 5 min. Keep it this simple.

Realized it was confusing as written. I'm not talking about game plan limits as those would not change.
