Ridiculous

Postby Dean-Atlanta » Fri Mar 27, 2020 2:18 pm

Tell me these stats are realistic and not absolute ridiculous:

play yards given up to passing
=======================================
PS32rlSD 24.0
SF32PL1Z 17.0
SF34RM1B 17.0
SF32RR2L 14.0
SF32RR4C 12.5
SF32RR2X 12.0
DB4Cpm2m 11.0
PS32rlJ2 11.0
SF42PS2Z 10.0
SF33RM1B 9.0

That's TEN defensive plays that don't stop passing. Far worse plays were removed from the game plan. And some though a DB getting into the backfield on a blitz play is unreal? Please.

How are they against the run? Most of these plays are RMs and RRs.

I didn't save the stats but they ere 5-7 yards given up vs run not as bas as the passing stats. I try to stay arounf 5 yards given up of each.

I'm open to any advice on designing better RL and PM plays for pass and run defense...

So, is anyone surprised that there are plays in the play pool that do not work?

Maybe take those plays and edit them to the exact opposite of what their logic is now :)
If they stink, then the opposite would have to be right? :)

No offensive play will beat every defense, and no defensive play will stop every offense! Every offensive play will go for a TD against the right defense, and every defensive play will stop the right offensive play! What is your point? If you scout your opponent and they are pass-heavy, you build a defense that plays the pass, and likewise for the run. I scouted the Giants and they led the League with Sacks, 3.5 per game. So, my pass plays were going to be quick for their game, and they only got two sacks. My last pass was an INT in the End Zone with less than 30-seconds to go in the game. A catch, and I win. Did I call a bad offensive play? Did they call a good defensive play? Who knows, it's random to a great degree.

 If plays do not pan out in your Sims, don't use them!

I actually did just that yesterday but got mixed results. I created some totally new original short pass plays calling them COLD instead of HOT and they are actually good.

That was a really good game you and Shawn played, close Giants win just as I predicted.
