How does this make sense?

This is how the Atlanta at Jacskonville game ended:

Atlanta's ball on Jacksonville's 4 yard line. First and goal. :09 left in
the fourth quarter. The score is Atlanta 25, Jacksonville 29.

The pass from Atlanta's QB1 #2 Bryce Young was incomplete. Second and goal.
That was STOPCLOK (2057) against Jacksonville's MN33RDRC (2053).

If the game could record a STOPCLOK play being calleed, why wasn't there at least ONE mores econd left to call the game's final play by the ATL offense? And if the clock really did run out, the STOPCLOK play should not be called vbefore time runs out and should noit be recorded.

IKn what world of football, in 2026 or even in 1997 when the game was programmed, is NINE seconds not enough time to spike the ball to leave time for one more play?

This is a play that stands under PNFL rules because we can't do anything about it. But it sucks that NINE seconds is not enouigh time to stop the clock. RIDICLULOUS.

The clock still ticks during the spike itself. Must have ran out between the snap and the dead ball

Jerry is right. If you watch the film, the clock is at about 3 seconds when the ball is snapped. We have no visual data to say how much of that 3 seconds ran off prior to the ball hitting the ground. However, it is entirely feasible that it took 3 seconds to drop back and spike the ball. Either way it was one of the closest finishes I've seen in this league. Wish it hadn't came down to that, but unfortunately it did.
