Covering RBs and defending LOS

RBs are almost always lining up in the backfield and attacking the LOS on offense. One way to defend this is a LB in M2M coverage backfield. Should our rules allow this to count as defending the LOS?
So, if the RB goes out for a pass, is the LB defending the LOS? NO and NO!
