We had a situation during the Cin/Den game last week. I dont know if anyone watching noticed, but over and over on defense, the game switched my profile play call and called the same GLP defense i think 9 times. All in the first half.
It also switched at least one of my offensive plays to a PLR on 1-10. Charlie and rich (and me) double checked my profile and everything was correct. Those were not the plays that should have ever been called in those situations
Brian mentioned he seems to remember hearing that having GLP in your ppps can potentially trigger a bug where this happens. Has anyone ever experienced or heard of this issue before?

Re: GLP defense bug
That is common but your luck was much worse to have it happen NINE times in a game.
I've seen this in sim data where the stats on GLP defense are blown up in pass yardage allowed by these rogue play calls by FBPro98.
All we can do it take that risk by using them or opt to not use GLP defense as Jerry said.

Re: GLP defense bug
I guess the question is, if it is a known bug, should it be banned? It also seems to have made me call rogue plays on offense. Or is it considered that someone who uses these plays can really only hurt their overall chances if the big kicks in?

Re: GLP defense bug
If GLP is causing these kinds of glitches, I would be fully in favor of moving all defensive GLP plays to GLR and just treating GLR as defensive "goal line" plays in the offseason. This means we would choose to defend the pass or run with goal line plays based on which GLR plays we load into our game plan next season.

Alternatively, we could repurpose RunDazzle as defenses to use inside the 5 yard line and recategorize all the GLX plays to RunDazzle. This would also allow us to make RR 8 man run focused pressure style defenses and help differentiate RunDazzle and RunRight

Re: GLP defense bug
Does the glitch affect only GLP plays or also GLR plays?

Yeah, that seems like a reasonable solution, but Force everyone to purge their defensive plans! Bummer, but we cannot have a known glitch affecting the outcome of our games.
The reclassification will have to take place in the off-season. In the interim, people can change out the GLP as they see fit, and we will just have to live with it for the remainder of the season.

Re: GLP defense bug
I have yet to watch the game, or look at the log, but consideration for removing an entire play type does feel like a major overreaction for something that has happened so infrequently.
Are you guys sure that all of the situations were correct in the profile, and there was no category missing from the game plan?

It feels like the game got into a funky state more than an issue with the PPP. And I think Dan used the same game plan in both halves..
Dan noticed that each time it happened, the game initially made a correct play call and then switched the call in the last frame before returning to game play. It also started on the play call screen much much longer than normal.
Now that we know what the behavior is, it actually should be very apparent when watching a game.
Do any coaches randomize where plays are located in their game plans? Dan's were more random than I'm used to seeing, do I'm wondering if that could have played a part.
