PNFL Salary Discussion

With cuts coming and some prior thread talk it seems to be a good time to discuss and potentially change any personnel rules before the SNS is pushed. The point of the discussion is the Salary Cap system. We instituted the current dollar version of the salary cap two seasons ago. We used the points component to provide a FA signing system and soft cap pushing a decade of time.
What is every else's opinion? I was a proponent of it two seasons ago, but now I see some of the pitfalls others brought up before we implemented it. Reduced trading and complication. I believe the lack of trading is obvious and we are down two owners and the cap dollar portion of the cap seems to be more work and less fun as well as an additional learning curve to keep and attract new owners. I'm now of the opinion we should eliminate the dollars and go back to the points system that served us well for a very long time. As noted in a previous thread by Shawn I think, why change it if it isn't actual broke. The dollars may have done that in some respects. Simpler seems to have been better based on my observations. Please provide you input.
