Playing without the game CD

Maybe you all already know this, but I found the game honors the CDNeeded=No only if you shut off audio play-by-play.

Ha, I did not know that 
Isn't it funny that someone says this literally 24 hours after I find a program to mount the fbpro98 iso so I don't need the disk on all 3 of my systems (XP-W7-W10)
I ejected the iso and tested this and the darn game started to play a game.
I guess I will turn off pbp just to make sure.

The FAQ tells you how to shut off play-by-play, but it doesn't tell you that you need to shut it off in order for CDNeeded=No to work.

I didn't know that was needed to run wiothout the CD, but have always run mine without it, but have also disabled sound for watching my practice games, so that explains why it workswiotho0ut the CD. I would guess the CD is needed for ther sound files.

Ahhh! Ok, now that is something I didn't know. If tried the CDNeeded=No in the past and it didn't work. I figured it was because of system compatibility or 1.08 patch. I've bought sever copies of the FBPRO98 disk because of it. Ha!
We should move this thread to the Coach's Corner since its a game play tip.

This seems to work with my XP laptops with working, built in CD-ROMs. My XP laptop with an external CD-ROM still asks for the CD on certain screens.

Even after learning and testing this, I am still using the iso and it's mounted permanently
What else can Brian teach us?
