Defensive Profile Rule Change

I want to change the PNFL rules to require three (3) defensive categories with more than five (5) minutes to play in each half.
The game was designed for three (3), and for some reason, many seasons ago, we went to two (2) for the entire game. I can see two (2) for the last five (5) minutes of a half, but see no reason for it for the entire game.

I'm comfortable with a move to 3 categories on defense with o er 5 mins left in each half. I'd also like it to be only for between the O5 and D5 yardlines as well since it is such a pain changing profiles and timeouts inside the 5 yard line.
If we make the change to 3 categories, I believe some additional guidelines need to be implemented as well. Similar to the offensive PPPs, I believe certain play types need to be required for each down and distance. EX. 2 of the 3 categories on 1st and 2nd down must be RM and RL unless over 10+ yards. Maybe even say only RL, RM and RR can be used on 1st and 2nd down unless 10+ yards to go.
I believe this will create more accurate player match ups with the offense.

I meant to say 2 of the 3 categories must be RL, RM and RR, ot just RL and RM.

I agree with the move to 3 play types on defense when over 5 minutes to go.
I also agree with Mitch about keeping this between the 5 and the 5. Play editor sucks in goal line areas. Poor time out calling is mostly caused by the crappy editor than coaching mistakes.
I slightly agree with Mitch about RR/RM/RL. I would prefer that we simply require one of the 3 play types to be a RUN category on all 1st and 2nd downs when over 5 minutes. This is less restrictive but accounts for the offense being required to have a run type on 1st and 2nd.
I would also prefer that with less than 15 seconds to go, we be allowed to only have one play type called if we want as only PRD or run clock should obviously be called on offense. On defense most coaches only would call PRD in this situation if ahead when the opponent is not in FG range.

It was done to tone down offenses the lunatics in this league thought were ruining the league
The truth is, offenses were on the cusp of exploding in the NFL and we were fine.
Instead we gave the defense lots of help and now we play NFL 1975

I am not proposing to change anything five (5) minutes and under in either half. This will only be a change to each half for greater than five (5) minutes. And yes, the field position of between the OFF 5 and DEF 5 is a good suggestion.

I already use three in most cases anyway. I'm good

I say we go back to 1920s football and stop forward passes on all play outside final 5 minutes and 3rd and 10+.
I don't have a problem with this I think the offense and defense issues are things that are going to be fixed by rule changes or stat changes they will be fix by better plays and coaching.

YES, I want to change the PNFL rules to require three (3) defensive categories with more than five (5) minutes to play in each half. There are five time-periods in the game, and the rule change will only apply to the first one, Minutes in Half: >5 . Exception: it will not apply during any period when defending Field Position: <DEF 5.
