There always seems to be a lot of talk about passing plays, passing stats, etc, etc.

However, maybe some of the passing efficiency is down for some teams because they have adondoned the running game.

2034 - 11 teams rushed for over 1,900+ yards
2035 - 4 teams rushed for over 1,900+ yards
2036 - 4 teams rushed for over 1,900+ yards
2037 - 5 teams rushed for over 1,900+ yards
2038 - 1 team rushed for over 1,900+ yards
2039 - 5 teams rushed for over 1,900+ yards

Just a thought...

Oakland is ranked #1 in rushing and # 16 in passing.

KC is ranked #4 in rushing and #12 n passing.

Oakland and KC were the ONLY teams to have 1000 yard RBs last season.

Have we abandoned the passing game in our focus on running the ball?

@Dean - For me, the anseer is no. The 1st quarter of the season i was dead last in passing and near the bottom in rushing. Once I balance my pkaying out agsin, my rushing skyrocketed and my passing efficiency improved. I was too conservative in my pass play selection early in the season.

There are certainly teams that pass mostly and run the ball just barely enough to keep opposing defenses "honest" and maybe those teams are abandoning the running game. But this is NOT coming at the expense of their passing game...maybe we need improvement in our defensive coaching?
