There is already PLENTY of randomness (perhaps too much) built into the game already, look at the upsets by CPU teams after coaches sim cs the CPU PPPs and still lose...
And there is no guarantee of success of players based on skills ratings assigned in the draft, we have as many busts and surprises as real life football does
in this case, what's not broken doesn't need fixing with a radical idea like this

I agree. More than enough randomness already exists.

Re: Random Pot nerf/Boost
We should avoid any random nerf system that 'hurts' drafted players because coaches invest way too much time analyzing who they pick. It would simply upset people and make them feel like they are wasting time on this game. Kind of like the draft James had where he had a ton of top picks, no list, missed the live draft, and got stuck with lots of players he never really wanted. That's how it would feel.
I think the random boosts however work well enough to at least give us the chance of a Tom Brady being out there. For example, CB Exum was godlike as a late round drafted CB simply because of the lucky boost he received when drafted.
I think what we have is plenty.

HB Benny Snell Jr. is case in point that we have enough randomness, and still have surprise players from our drafts without nerfing or boosting rookies. Snell is a solid young RB and has proven effective at both running and catching the ball. He was the 17th pick in the 6th round of his draft class, that is almost a 7th round pick. Being #17 in the round, that is a draft pick originally assigned to a team that lost in the Super Bowl. His salary is 900K, a bargain even for a HB.

Re: Random Pot nerf/Boost
Seriously, with as random and diverse as this latest draft, I am surprised that anyone would be opposed to a few random players receiving an extra POT point or two. My usual determination to boost or not is a concentration of picks in the final rounds where one or more teams are stockpiling picks. If you want to voice an opinion, now is the time to do it.

Charlie, I think people are talking about the original James idea.
Not the normal boosts you do post draft.
And nobody is opposed to a boost but nobody wants a reduction

I was not talking about any reduction, just a boost, and just to be clear.

What we had last year worked great. When the boost is complementary to the draft pool I don’t think anyone has an issue.
