Well, with Pittsburgh also gone it leaves us with 7 in the NFC and 5 in the AFC.
It would be lovely if someone wanted to join the AFC East or we do have to move one of the West teams to the east.
This requires some thought.

AFC East
NY Jets

AFC West
Cincinnati
Kansas City
Jacksonville
LA Chargers

NFC East
Atlanta
NY Giants
Washington

NFC West
Chicago
Detroit
Green Bay
San Francisco

Seriously, another departure? Sigh.

One idea I have is to bring Chicago into the AFC East because they aren't the Bears. Kind of makes them a wildcard you can move around.

AFC East
NY Jets
Chicago

AFC West
Cincinnati
Kansas City
Jacksonville
LA Chargers

NFC East
Atlanta
NY Giants
Washington

NFC West
Detroit
Green Bay
San Francisco
Los Angeles Chargers

When did Pittsburgh quit? It's best that the coaches resign now than not be active during the season. As I say at work, "you can quit or you can stay, but you can't quit and stay."

I'll move back to the AFC East if needed.

It would be easier for me to move to the AFC East than moving the Falcons, but dang that will be tough if we have the Jets, Chicago, and Me in that division.

With William-NYG out of the picture, Chicago and NY Jets are the elite 'favorites' for the 2026 Super Bowl and probably should be in opposite conferences. Always possible another team gets in there like Washington did two seasons age, but I'm looking at it from the past season only. This idea only works if the Niners are willing to move to the AFC to create more balance. We can make an open team into Seattle if it helps. :P

AFC East
NY Jets
Buffalo (open)
Jacksonville
Cincinnati

AFC West
LA Chargers
Kansas City
San Francisco
Oakland (open)
Miami>Seattle (open)

NFC East
Atlanta
Washington
NY Giants
LA Rams>Philly (open)

NFC North
Chicago
Green Bay
Detroit
Indianapolis>Minnesota (open)
Pittsburgh (open)
Los Angeles Chargers
2041 Super Bowl XLIV Champions

I can't believe Bryan retired, he runs his own league also so he's a die-hard. He was on the watch list for several seasons as well. Nah, He'll be back.

Make it easy! Put all the OPEN teams in the NFC West with the 49ers and find a home for the guys that you move out
