This may make more work for Rich, but in Jerry's scenario. When you place a guy on the PS at the beginning of the season his contract goes to 1 yr. This stays the same till the end of season cut down. At this point, if the guy gets promoted to the active roster and not cut, he gets a three year contract. (We can debate the length here, but more than a year for sure.) That's his reward for the management seeing enough in him to keep him.
This saves Rich some work by limiting his work to beginning of the regular season and before the Start New Season.

I meant they are a FA at SNS and you would have to carry them on the 53 and spend points to resign like any other no contract player in the new league season. That is mimicking the NFL. This would make the PS decisions different to start with.

Forgot to add. This is no work on Rich. Now if you want those contracts years they need to stay on the 53 man roster

 Was a creative Idea from Steve with merit, with everyone in agreement that we should let the current changes provide some data before making any additional changes is the consensus, I've advocated for the current changes for atleast the last 3 seasons and elated to see it into effect after longterm consideration.
