Maybe the bye should be the week when trading ends so we have a week to make last minute trades before the trade deadline?

I really like this idea. I'm not sure why there seems to be some emphasis for not right after week 8, but right after week 8 makes the most sense to me, being the mid-point of the regular season. I'd be fine with right after weeks 9 or 10 as well, but any time beyond that feels too late. Plus, some teams could be on cruise control for the next season by that point.

Maybe look at the calendar and set it depending on a major holiday to impact real life better. Doesn't have to be in the middle or anything

I like this idea. If we are taking a break to improve QOL for the league, then let's do something like this.

Great idea but it's not going to work.
The 2047 season is likely to begin at the end of August.
Thanksgiving is roughly 12-13 weeks away.
There is no point to a bye at that point.
The whole point is for all 18 teams to take a break and refresh/regroup for a possible playoff run.

So far, the best idea is after week 8, where the deadline is one week away.
It would give teams a breath to approach the deadline with nothing else to do.

I'd rather not have a bye week coorded to something else in the league. I want it to be a chance to completely divest for a week or do not need a bye week. The purpose is a rest break and QOL for real life to me. Otherwise lets play thru like we have forever mostly.
