Re: Point Betting and Trading
I've been thinking about joining again, but time is an issue and for unknown reasons I have a no interest at all in an auction draft. That kind of ruins it for me. I need the two leagues to merge taking the best ideas of both.

Re: Point Betting and Trading
Looks like I got under a few people's skins. It isn't arrogrance and if you believe me or not. I am do know what I am speaking on.
To address Niel look what Jimmy Johnson did in Dallas. While not on the scale I did it. It was very much the same blue print cut salary acquire as many draft picks as possible and draft good. Niners and Dallas both did it with FAs, too. Lets be honest the reason most of you don't have points as you think of them as a throw away resources.
As for tanking I have never tanked I might run the same PPP every week but it was a PPP that had a shot of winning. For tanking some how I have only had the first pick in the draft once and am rarely in the top 5 with my pick. I have made a lot of mistake and have learned from them and am getting better. The point of pointing this out is people are doing the same things over and over and some reason thinking it isn't different.
As for Dean yes I am hard on Dean. This is for a few reason for the longest time he wanted me to be a rival. He went on and on with it for years and I kept telling him I wasn't interested. He also likes to go around saying a lot of stuff that just aren't true. Hidden rating etc. amd I get he is trying to figure out why things aren't working. I will be honest a majority of it is I see Dean making the same mistakes over and over again and it frustrates the hell out of me as person who has had a lot of in depth talks about this game where he seems to get it. Then it just falls a part a little while later.
I am brutal, blunt and generally don't care who I piss off. I also have very quick tongue and if you set yourself up to be put down it will comes out before I think about it. If you actually ever had a conversation with me one on one about the game you quickly realize I get it. I am willing to help and have serious conversation with anyone. I probably give out more information than what I should about stuff I have learned talking to others. Anyone who has played me over the years will tell you I am probably a middle of the road coach. Not as good as Steve, Barney, Jerry, Charlie , Thomas, and Justin and most likely not on the same level as Donovon and Brian. Sorry I have played the 2 of you enough to know for sure right now. But I generally hover around .500 slightly above or a game or 2 below.
I also generally try to do what I can to help the league and suggest things I generally think will help. Like making the rules less complex etc.
I generally want Dean and Matt and everyone else do well. The better you do the better I have to be to win.
I want to see all these coaches with more championship than me. 5 of 18 have won a chamption currently and only 3 with more than one. I have said my piece. Take it or leave it.

But this isn't really happening, despite the effort, other than maybe a couple of positions, such as QB and DE (side note: this is also why I think Jacksonville is going for Daniels now, along with Love being on season 8.) I mean just look at the top-10 HBs in this draft pool. They're nearly indistinguishable aside from an extra point in one skill over another skill. And several, just like in other draft pools, will become newly top-level talent 8 seasons or so from now because their actuals are so low, meaning, in 8 seasons a whole new crop of top-level talent will be there to choose from, from this draft pool, as well as last season's draft pool, and next season's draft pool, and so on.
My point is you're all making a big stink out of (mostly) nothing. I get it to a point where some teams seem to accumulate more and more draft picks and points, but the way the players are, it doesn't even really matter.
Actually, I'm wrong, it does matter. I'm sure a big reason the player pool isn't being made anywhere near as diverse as I would like is so GM-ing is really taken out of the league due to how much advantage some teams seem to earn. Maybe to have a diverse pool of players, trading would need to be banned altogether, or at least severely limited in some way? Would you rather have trading of players and points that don't really matter, or a diverse pool of players and no trading? Seems a no-brainer really, so why are we doing the wrong one?
What I meant was the talent pool of coaches/owners/GMs/etc. As this game gets older, the number of guys we have to fill the league gets smaller and smaller.
