Free Agency

All Free Agency in the PNFL takes place on the forum under the proper thread.
You will write the players position and name in the subject and place your bid for a minimum of 1 point.
Additional bids from there can take place as small as 0.5 points. The final bid after 24 hours since the bidding stopped will win the player.
You of course must have enough points to win the player.

No team may have more points bid on the board than they have in total.
For example, if you have bids on 5 players totally 25 points but only have 22 points, I can and will remove your bids till you are back to 22.
If your bid hits the board, its assumed you can afford that player right then and there.

Every newly signed free agent received a 3 year contract.

Once the regular season (only) begins, we have a ZERO point signing system in place.
You can bid on a player for 0 points and we follow the same rules.
This allows teams to fill in slots cheaply when they have few points to spend.
These players only receive a 1 year contract.

Players signed off of another teams Practice Squad will only receive a 1-year contract.

***Reminder to all coaches that signing a free agent is a 2 step process.

#1 You bid and allow the 24 hours to go by.
#2 You must immediately make a corresponding move (cut, trade, ps move) to allow this newly signed free agent to be official.

***If there is no move for 24 hours, the signing is null and void.

This rule also goes for practice squad players you attempt to sign and or match offers. From the moment the 24 hour window has closed and the player appears to be yours, you need have 24 hours to make this move.

Do not wait for me to remind you or make a notation on the forum.
It is in your best interest to email me with this move the moment you make the attempt.
