Offensivce lines

Postby Dean-Atlanta » Mon Apr 06, 2020 12:19 pm

Does it really matter if the G1 or G2 is on the left? I can't see this an an AI buster in any way.

Or are we just being OCD?

I wouldn't think so, as the game progresses and OL get tired, G1 may not even be on the left. It may be G3 or G4. Heck, in some scenarios, it could even be C2 or T3.

The principle is two fold. First, few NFL lineman actually move around a ton, especially starters. They specialize somewhat. There are flex backups that have some value to NFL temas because that are flexible, but lineman are pretty static We are an NFL sim league at our heart and attempt to be somewhat realistic. The other reason is that is completely unrealistic to have plays designed to put the top lineman on the same side depending on where you design the run. You can already have your best G be G2 to stack. You just can't shuffle them play to play. There is 0% of that happening in real life.
