I still remember what seemed like a magical season when Jerry Glanville lead the Atlanta Falcons into post-season in 1991. They featured a high scoring offense that blew away some teams. Then they faced Washington in divisional playoffs and their run ended abruptly.

He had coached in Houston before that and turned the team around, then moved on to Atlanta. IN some ways Jerry Glanville had become a legend in my own mind, but a look at this stats tells a different story. He had more losing seasons and never won more than 10 games in a regular season.

I always thought if hew had more chances he could be so much better. He wasn't a legend but he sure wanted to be. Not every head coach in the NFL could be one of the legends, andnot every coach here can do what Rich did. But we can all be like Jerry Glanville and aspire to being a winner at this game.

We start the 2045 season next week. Is your team ready to take that next step?

I think Mike Leach would make a good parallel in College Football. They want to deny him the hall of fame because he is .5% from meeting the winning percentage requirement. If not for that, he'd be a lock. His contributions to the game alone, should be enough to get him in, but outside of a few good seasons at Texas Tech, he never had sustained long term success(9-10 win seasons) at any of his stops.
