Justin Fields headed to Chicago

Before the Falcons boarded the team airplane in LA, QB Justin Fields already his ticket to Chicago in hand. After starting his KC/ATL career with a terrible outing in the rain week 1 of 2039 at Jacksonville, Fields finished his career with the same team with 4 interception and two fumbles in the rain at LA in the Super Bowl. The 2043 season in ATL will start with a QB controversy, does Fields get replaced with Lamar Jackson or Trey Lance?

I refer you to my comment in the Super Bowl chat when Rich said you need to unload Baker Mayfield, and I said Baker wasn't the only one who needed to be unloaded.

At the end of the day he didn't fit. I think Baker Mayfield isn't a fit for your team and I think that is what was behind Rich's comment. But you may have a different assessment of that and you might have your heart more than your mind invested in having Baker as your QB, I don't know, only you can speak to that. I know for me I saw Rich's comment and realized that's exactly what I need to do. Throwing four INTs in the Super Bowl is a good way to write your own walking papers. There is no guarantee that Trey Lance or Lamar Jackson a re better fit in this offense. QBs succeed or fail by a variety of factors, some of them intangible.Who would have guessed that DeShone Kizer would be The Man for the Chargers?

I wouldn't dump a 3rd year QB with the potential to be a Top 5 QB (ratings) for 2 QBs that will top out in the mid-20s.

I for one would've benefitted from Kizer still being in the FA pile halfway through this season. The reality is that QB is one piece of the puzzle. You need many pieces to fall in place to win a title, often luck comes in somewhere along the way. The Champion Chargers were building a talented team around a hole at QB and Kizer was simply the best guy available.

I have always liked Fields and it was fun to see him lead a championship charge this season. As I mentioned in the chat I believe he is a franchise QB and has something that alot of QBs lack, and he showed that today by battling until the end and making some big plays even under constant duress. Is he the second coming of Jake Locker? Probably not. He may well star in Chicago in the future, but he'll be relegated to backup duty for the next few seasons as long as Darnold is healthy. Which could be a big "if."

My money's on Lance as Atlanta's starter.

You could have worse QB's than Darnold as your "bridge QB."

Everyone forgets QB Lamar Jackson was originally drafted by the Chiefs. It's more of a reunion acquisition. I know Dean loves his QB to have high AG, but Jackson has more SP, better DI, and most importantly, better EN. Lance is basically Fields without the 96 ST.

QB Trey Lance
77 79 81 95 70 84 92 83
78 79 81 95 71 85 92 83

QB Lamar Jackson
80 77 77 95 69 85 92 84
81 78 78 95 70 86 92 84

QB Justin Fields
77 79 80 96 70 84 92 83
78 79 81 96 71 84 92 84

What is it with Dean and not being able to stick with a starter?

Jackson has small hands. Remember, before Dean had Fields (rookie of the year and a Super Bowl QB), he had Dobbs who also won rookie of the year with Dean. Dean cut Dobbs becauae he fumbles too much and then Dobbs went on to lead the Panthers to the Super Bowl.
