We start the season with some interesting match ups.

OAK at CIN

Raiders should be favored but this is an opportunity for the Bengals to make a statement that they will contend this season if they can pull off the upset. Don't rule it out.

KC at CAR

Both teams were 10-6 last season but the Panthers have home field. The game could go either way.

MIN at NE

Two teams that just barely missed post-season in 2039. Viking would seem to have the edge in this one.

LA at SEA

Both teams have something to prove. Will the Seahawks 2nd year QB out-perform QB Kizer, who lands in LA after having played for several teams? This game could go either way.

WAS at JAX

The Jaguars may be improved by it is unlikely it will be enough to beats the Redskins.

DET at NY Jets:

The defending Super Bowls champs aren't likely to lose at home to a team that had the 4th pick over all in the draft.

NY Giants at PHI:

The Daniel Jones era begins for the New York Football Giants after the retirement of RG III. Look for Jones to win this games for the Giants.

SF at GB:

Both of these teams can be unpredictable. Give the edge to the Packerss at home in a close games. The 49s seems to always lose and win by close scores.

NO at CHI:

This should be a win for the Cardinals but the new Saints GM may surprise us.

Big! Wow, I guess NE, DET, SEA, JAX and NO have some serious incentive to win this week and earn some respect from more of us...

Rosters are almost equal overall, so the difference is in the coaching. Make it happen!

There are talent differences.

Take a look at the 2040 salaries. These show a relative talent level for last season. 2041 the same for this season. It is true it does not take into account positional talent or the depth at certain positions, but it is a general ratio of talent level. I agree 100% that coaching can overcome differences in talent but there are noticeable differences that I believe have an impact. I do not believe it is just coincidence that the highest salary teams have a tendency to also make the playoffs.

Just like I believe more owners focus on offense than defense in game planning, I think the focus can be too much on PPP's and plays versus the roster. It takes a healthy balance in my opinion. Now is a not the best time in the season to change a roster, so Dean has that part right. Time to work those PPP's and make it happen......

You guys need to really do your homework better. I'm 2-1 against Jerry the last four seasons, so it's not an automatic "Big" win by any means. I do feel he's got the advantage this season, but don't sit there and say it's no contest.

I said it is unlikely Jax will beat Was but I don't rule it out.

That being said, Mr. Big was served a healthy dose of humble pie in CIN today.

#1... I didn't say Oakland would win Big in Cincinnati.

#2... Obviously, my account must have been hacked since such poor prediction were made. :)

#3... See you in the playoffs!

This is what we need, a little anger, some trash talk to create some on the field animosity :)
