Sure looks like the vets have some FA value at least with the cap gone. We have some large bids going on expensive vets. Now will it translate to trades?

I think we will see a lot more trades. Especially in season, as teams get in and out of contention

I’m admittedly surprised to see QB Thorson getting so much love. He was horrid for me. His awful performance last season made me really question if it’s the QB or the OL that really matters. My offense has been dismal since my great OL went to crap two seasons ago because of the cap. It’s not due to my receivers nor my running backs as they are actually quite solid.

I’ll be pissed if Thorson becomes the next Carr and I cut him like a damn fool.

Thorson would still be my backup probably if we never had a cap

And can someone please explain why so many teams are hoarding a shit ton of points and not spending them in FA? Saving for restructures next season and beyond? I didn’t see much of that again. Maybe Rich should drastically reduce the points next season to force people to spend what they have accumulated. Instead of 60, how about 40?

The amount teams have stashed does seem a little off from years past. Im not sure what to do about that, or that I even care though. If they dont want to spend them, more FA for you I guess? I feel like im basically living season to season with mine as it is (Although I did waste some points not waiting to sign guys till after physicals, where I could have done some 2 year contracts instead of single year contracts)

I don't know about going from 60-40 for annual allotment...maybe an incentive to get those with 100+ pts to spend them. To me it seems like cutting the annual allotment without doing something to encourage those above 100 to spend would only punish those using the points.

The comment is meant to express the opinion the Cap was the reason folks did not sign vets or higher priced backups. The question is since it's clear FA shows value, will people pay with picks or other players to the same value.

Well... we can always consider my proposal. Impose a luxury point tax on teams that finish the season over a certain amount.

Let's say a 10% tax on teams at the end of the season over 100 points.

Those points would then be redistributed to teams across the league as long as it did not put them over 100 points.

This was never meant to be a discuss on the points. Someone that hoards or does not
save a few are likely weaker talent wise. Let folks spend how they want. Just trying to gage what folks think about vet value now.
