QB Finley and QB Herbert had a fierce competition to be the starter in LA during training camp and preseason (my sims).

Based on the results below, QB Finley has a better overall QB rating across the board, throws deeper than QB Herbert and throws less INTs. QB Herbert has a better completion rate than QB Finley and throws more TDs.

LA could go with either QB. Although QB Herbert is the fan favorite, LA coaches have given the nod to QB Finley for the 2039 season.

I don't think there is enough difference in attributes to cause a drastic difference in stats. I believe the only thing that would cause a big difference in stats is if you practiced with different PPPs for each QB.

I think another question in assessing those stats is what defensive PPPs were those simmed games run against?

Used a heavy pass profile with a variety of passing plays (3WR, 4WR. floods, spreads, etc.). Used a pass focused defense to terrorize them both as much as possible.

I agree that this analysis showed a minute difference based on attributes, but there was a difference. Finley had a 3 point boost in QB rating likely due to his better IN and ST being at max, so the game probably favors higher ST and IN just like the FBPRO manual says. I always thought higher DI translated to less INTs, but that wasn't the case here. Herbert's higher DI did seem to help him be more accurate at the goal line though (where coverage would be tighter and pinpoint accuracy matters more). Also, I thought Herbert's higher EN would help him in away games, but it didn't.

Maybe Herbert will do better in accuracy situations like timed passes and 2-3 WRs and tighter coverage while Finley is more adept for plays that either go deep or require reading the defense better such as 4-5 WR spreads.

Interesting data crunch, looking at both at these players, Finley right off the bat is the better QB from a max QB attribute perspective.

It's all mathematical formulas used in calculating the simulations, you may think 1 point difference in ST is no biggie, but with all the other attributes EXACTLY the same, Im betting the 96 ST QB would have better stats than the 95 ST QB, again with all the other attributes the EXACT same.

The difference in the attributes, one-two points off DEFINITELY makes a difference. It's just math.

The +2 in IN AND +1 ST makes Finley the better option MATHEMATICALLY, so any simulation using number values for the outcome, the higher IN and stronger ST QB would over a say 1000 games would have better stats than a QB 95 ST 90 IN and 82 DI

Steve's simulation analytics reveal that IN + ST + HA for a QB definitely affects their performance output, more so than higher DI. Im sure the other non critical attributes also contribute, the one point differences in some is a BIG difference, MATH wise. 2 > 1.

I have a simple way of showing the better QB, the FBpro editor assigns values and it clearly shows Finley actual OVERALL attribute is 6 points Higher than Herbert and also 3 points higher in KEY ratings, making Finley, the better option, again from a mathematical stand point.
