Luck retirement

Postby Steve-LA Chargers » Sun Aug 25, 2019 1:22 pm

Somewhat of a bitter irony that Luck has a long, prestigious PNFL career still going and had a forgettable, short one in the NFL. If Joe is a real Colts fan, I'm sure he is glad he didn't acquire Luck from me and can now send his pass rushers after him twice a season.

I was hoping to see the headline, "Locker announces retirement from Giants" run across the TV last night. It never happened.

I am stunned that the real Andrew Luck retired and quite frankly disappointed in him.
He's 29 and guys have been more injured than him.
Plus, its not like he can stop rehabbing whatever his injuries are.
I think its weak!
And, I also think its pathetic he did it so close to the start of the new season.
Yet, I also think he will be back.
But if I was the Colts, I'd be big time pissed at him.

I was thinking the same thing in regards to the timing of the announcement. That leaves the Colts with very few options going into the season. At the same time, I believe this is the 1st of what I believe will be many others that leave the game early. We are now in an era where money for QBs and other star players is at a life changing level. Not just in the present for the players, but for future generations of the player's family. Get your guaranteed money, invest it early and leave the game with all your functions in tact versus playing through pain. I think it's the millennial generation effect...

It just annoys me what a girl Luck turned out to be.
He has no concussion history, his arm is fine, its a calf injury?
Fine, take your money, put your sundress on and go away.
He is proven to be mentally weak and when he does come out of retirement I'd trade him.

You probably nailed it. Watch him return from retirement and get traded to the Patriots when Brady finally retires. Or Harbaugh returns to the NFL after failing in Michigan and he unretires to play for him. I recall he was super ticked off that he didn't get to play for SF because they thought they had a star (he who will not be named here).

I was a bit surprised that he would just up and retire, but as a Jags fan am loving it. The division is essentially ours to lose now as long as we can get past the Titans.

I guess that ends any debate on who the best QB in that draft class was
