The curse of 3-28: Is it time for change?
Is it time for a change? My past teams in the PNFL since I joined were:
New England Patriots (taken)
Washington Redskins (taken)
Atlanta Falcons (first time)
Tennessee Titans
PIttsburgh Steelers (taken)
Kansas City Chiefs
Atlanta Falcons (second time)
Possible new teams:
Dallas Cowboys
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Carolina Panthers
Which team should "hire" me as head coach if I get "fired" after this season?
Feel free to post all trash talk, commentary, condensation, etc. below.

Maybe take a different view. The owner gives you an ultimatum to make changes for next season. Then look at the aspects of what you are doing and build a plan. Start to implement it this season. Use this season to develop your base PPP and identity and have a plan for the roster in the offseason.
1. Decide on who you are and want to be. Your team should have an identity that fits your real world personality. Look at the top teams in the league. They are have an identity and style of play.
2. Bring in players to fit your new offense and defense. Stick to the plan as much as possible with some flexibility. Do not panic and be patient. Build to depth rather than just top stars. Be patient.
3. Be comfortable with your profile. The profile needs to fit your real personality. Tweak only small things to get better or meet you opponent each week. Large changes week to week give you poor feedback as too many new things can hide the real issues. Self scout and look where you are week to week. For example, are you 18th in 3rd down conversions. Is it 3rd down call or is it 2nd down calls leaving you in bad 3rd down positions. How are the teams best at it doing it? Oh. Defense wins. Give it equal time.
4. Game plans need to be varied and can be used to change your play calling that week with things such as sweeps versus inside run percentages each week or half. Do not only use the minimum plays or categories allowed in your defensive PPP. If you guess wrong as to how your opponent attacks you that week, you have no answer. Hedge your bets a bit and include some other things. Leave your coordinator a few other tools in the game plan each week.
Part of your joy is building plays. This will be good and bad for you week to week. Do what you enjoy and know it may impact your weekly results some. This is a game and should be fun. Have your fun. Maybe you won't be the Jet winning machine, but take the joy in the great plays you do make that enhance the league and win as much as possible with that added dynamic others don't work around.
Most of all just build a plan, tweak some along the way, but have a plan and build the roster and a PPP over time. Be patient and stick to your personality. I can't emulate the Jets success on offense no matter what I do. So I do me. So just do you.

Thanks Jerry. Lots of great ideas and words of wisdom. I definitely needed some ideas and perspective after last week's PPP didn't perform very well vs Philly.

At this point what are you thinking of the move that sent Steve to Buffalo and moved your team to the AFC West?

That was some great advice Jerry. The hard part is sticking to the plan. There are way too many shiny distractions.

It obvious... Jerry has no clue what he is talking about...
Dean, move to Tampa, use creamsicle uniforms and trade for Justin Fields. Those 3 things alone will get you 10 wins...

If I did those moves, losing 12 games would be almost assured.
