In order to overcome a dreadful 3 qters where Locker had 3 INTs
He went 14-25 (3 were clock stops)
178 yards
3 TDs including the winning one with 9 seconds left.
Locker also completed 2 key 4th down passes.
With 2:39 left, down 23-10, 4th & 22, Locker hit Gallup for 41 yds
With 0:30 left, down 23-17, 4th & 10, Locker Henry for 14 yds
2 plays later, Giants were champions.

WR Gallup was a close 2nd in the MVP balloting
He caught only 2 passes, both huge, one TD and recovered the onside kick.

SB38 is the first game that was a 1 point game. But not the first to be won as the clock went zero.

SB3 between Atlanta & Denver was 2 points. Broncos held a 4th qter lead of 23-7 before Falcons came alive with 3 straight drives. That game ended with a 49 yd FG by Atlanta that went wide! Denver won 23-21

SB2 NYG/NE was a 3 point game. But was a 10 pt game before Pats trimmed the lead late.

SB16 DET/BUF was a 3 point game. Buffalo held a tenuous 18-14 lead, Lions marched 60 yards in 1:35 and on 4th down, 3 seconds left threw a 7 yd TD to win at the buzzer. Lions 21-18

SB19 SD/SF was a 3 point game. 49ers led 21-17. With 1:10 left Chargers scored a TD in a 3 minute drive winning 24-21

SB34 SD/SF do it again. Chargers held a 13-7 lead with 5:03 left. 49ers were 4th & goal on the Chargers 3. 49ers opted for a FG and made it 13-10.
49ers got the ball back with 1:04 left. Got to the Chargers 45 but then threw 4 consecutive incompletes.

SB35 NYJ/NYG, back and forth for a while. Giants had a 10 point lead trimmed to 3, Jets never got the ball again.

As a PNFL Historian, this game was probably the best finish in any Super Bowl game.
There was 8:30 left when Giants got the ball down 23-3. Odds are slim a team will touch the ball 3x in that short a time while you score on all 3.
The 2 that are close are SB3 & SB16, both of which I was the losing coach.

I want to congratulate the Jets on another great season.
Dethroning Thomas was a serious chore and I know how lucky I was Sunday.
We had some great battles and our own version of Frazier/Ali in 3 of the past 4 seasons.
