Preferred Player?

On defense in pre-snap there is "Preferred Player" logic that can be clicked on or off.
Anyone know what this does?

I think it has to do with what player you control, if you are taking control of the players during gameplay.

Just for joystick playing and has no function in our games where players are all controlled by our play design logic?
