<DEF5

Postby Dan-Cincinnati » Sat Feb 14, 2026 12:54 pm

Im guessing this happens to everyone and I dont just have a cursed version of the game all of these years, but what in the world is going on in this game with the <DEF 5 field position? I have been fighting it for years, and recently I noticed it actually switches on its own within the same loaded profile.

I cant get anything to stick if I try to use the copy function
When I try to go situation by situation and fix it, it still doesnt ALWAYS save. Sometimes it saves, and then randomly if you click into it it will be some random shit like PL defense, and then I go back out of it to 1-10 at the 50, and when i then go back into the exact same situation it will have what I had intended to put there.

Anyway, point of the post is, has anyone discovered a good way to do this specific situation, it has been driving me crazy for years, to the point that I just quit even trying to set it up

Yeah, the first situation never sticks no matter what. I do them by hand to minimize the issues. Copy produces random things in other places as well. I do big changes as a copy in the offseason, and then one-by-one during a recheck and all other changes weekly.

You have to go from D5-D35 to D<5 then make your changes. You can copy while still there but make sure the copy window doesn’t have D5-D35 checked. Once done, go back to D5-D35. Save.

To confirm your changes were kept, go from D5-D35 to D<5 again.
