It's not that simple. See what I posted. Requiring that will kill completion percentage.

Unless you want to talk about reversing the nerfing of QB ratings (which lowered IN and DI of all QBs) that was done in the 2020s and combining THAT with a requirement that PM be 10+ in all routes.

Too many current PM plays have YPC under 10 yards with 60%+ comp%. That's a short pass...

Spend some time in play editor and you will see this doesn't work. Completion percentages on PM plays will be rubbish.

How does the play editor have anything to do with plays gaining less than 10 yards being categorized as PMs? If your primary receiver runs a route under 10 yards and the play averages under 10 yards, its definitely not a PM play.

The zone and distance is to categorize the play for name and primary routes. There is nothing wrong with the 3rd, 4th, and 5th receivers running short or long. People seem to get tunnel vision on the zone yardage. The first two primary reads are in the zone to reflect the team looking for that level of yardage in the situation. This allows for naming and categorization as well as the situational play calling that is the NFL and PNFL. If does not stop anyone from have the other 3 receivers do go's or short routes no different than a safety value in real life.

A play with a primary read of 5 yards is not a PM. Just use you doggone profile and call a short pass. Some people just do not want to have to strategize their play calling. Lets go wild west. I do not want to ever play in a "whatever" league again. The PNFL stands tall after all these years and folks want to create other defunct leagues junk.

I for one would love to not here about any changes for a few seasons. Even though I have been part of them. It is exhausting at this point. This has been and is the absolute best football sim thing in the world. About we enjoy it and prep for week one instead of trying to find ways to change things.
