Trading

Postby Rich-League Officer » Mon Jul 01, 2019 10:40 am

Trading will open in the new season following physicals, resignings, and tags are completed through week 12 of the regular season.
You negotiate with your opponent in email and then post the trade to the forum in the appropriate place.
Both teams need to conform the deal for it to take place.
The subject should read, "New England-Cincinnati Trade"
Inside the body, I am politely requesting you post the trade the way I like it.

Patriots trade
XYZ
3rd rd pick (2035)

Bengals trade
ABC
5th rd pick (2036)

I want to know who you traded and who they traded, not backward where you tell me what you acquired. My brain works funny and since Charlie and I are making these moves inside the game and in the contract file, I ask you to post it so my brain quickly understands what took place.

Please be as specific as possible with draft picks. If a trade takes place around draft time and I have given the picks a #24 overall, ect. Please use the #24 overall as opposed to Patriots 2nd rd in 2035. The # pick says it all.

Teams may trade Points in any deal. BUT, if a team is trading away points that takes them under 3, the trade can and might be voided. You will have to have a good reason for going under 3 points especially if you are a team who historically lands on zero points by week one.

As it has always been, the commissioner has the right to reject and void any trade by anyone if he feels the trade is so out of whack that it hurts the integrity of the league. This can happen with new owners as the sharks begin to prey on the new guy. Trades are being monitored.

To reflect the NFL as accurately as possible...
Beginning with the 2039 season, newly signed free agents are not allowed to be traded for 8 game weeks.

Probably not being enforced as accurately as I would like.
Of course no enforcement is needed if coaches didn't break the rule :)
It's hard for me to catch everything.

All of us should be catching it for you and abiding by it. I was mainly curious to see if it was some kind of outdated rule before I start bugging people about it later.

I need coaches to catch other coaches if they try and trade "newly" signed free agents.
It's just not possible for me to know the status of 1000 players.
When you see a trade, you should take an extra minute to make sure it's legit.
Otherwise, after some time it's a done deal and I am not rolling back trades that took place 3 months ago.
